In this instalment of our meet the team Q&A Blog we are happy to introduce the newest member of the Jane Lewis team, Louise Bowen Rush.
Louise has joined Jane Lewis as Branch Manager for our South Wales office, based in Talbot Green, and brings with her a wealth of healthcare experience. As a Registered Nurse Louise worked in acute and clinical environments and has recently worked for many years in healthcare recruitment as a Registered Manager.
Joining the team at the start of the year, Louise has quickly become a crucial part of the Jane Lewis service in Wales, and along with Joanna Williams, is central to providing our NHS and private clients across South Wales with the best possible services.
Louise has taken time to answer our meet the team questions, including a variety of topics, which will hopefully allow our clients and staff to get to know Louise better. So when you call our South Wales Nursing Agency branch for shifts or staffing requirements you’ll know who you’re speaking to along with Louise’s favourite holiday destination!
What is your employment background?
I am an acute clinical Registered Nurse and worked for many years in Oxfordshire. I have also worked as a Research Registered Nurse in Cardiff and for the last 9 years have taken on the role of Registered Manager in Healthcare Recruitment.
How long have you worked for Jane Lewis?
I’ve worked for Jane Lewis since the start of the year and already feel like part of the team. We’re really keen to establish ourselves in the south Wales region and grow the services we have provided NHS Trusts and private healthcare settings in north Wales since 1987.
What is the highlight of working for Jane Lewis?
I have to say one of the highlights of working for a family-run nursing agency is the close team environment, and for me that’s working closely with Joanna, with whom I have previously worked for 8 years in recruitment, otherwise known as ‘Team awesome’!
What are the benefits to staff (Nurses, HCAs, Specialist Support Workers) of working for Jane Lewis?
The staff at Jane Lewis office are extremely professional, experienced and supportive of our Nurses, HCAs and Support Workers. We provide our healthcare staff with the work life balance they want.
What motivates you during your working day?
We are always striving to do the best and to develop the Jane Lewis brand across South Wales from our office in Talbot Green. And we do like the coffee van and hot sausage rolls at 11!
Tell us something unusual about yourself?
I am an identical twin who was also a Registered Nurse.
Where do you live?
In an area of Cardiff called Pontcanna.
What’s your favourite song?
It can definitely depend on what mood I’m in but probably Piana Man by Billy Joel. A true classic!
Where is your favourite holiday destination?
I love visiting the northern part of Corsica which is rugged and a truly beautiful part of the world.
Who would play you in a movie of your life?
What’s your favourite beverage?
New Zealand Sauvignon Blanc – extra chilled!
