In today’s meet the team Q&A blog we have the pleasure of introducing the newest branch manager to join the Jane Lewis team, John Maunder.
John has recently taken up the post of Branch Manager for our Manchester Nursing Agency and brings with him in depth knowledge of the healthcare staffing market and a background of providing excellent customer service.
The Manchester branch will benefit greatly from John’s experience in providing excellent levels of quality care and support across a range of sectors across the North West and along with Recruitment Consultant Kal Abbas will meet and exceed the staffing needs of our private and public healthcare clients across Greater Manchester.
John has kindly answered a range of questions about both himself and his healthcare career to date so that we can better introduce him to both our clients and staff so now when you contact the office you’ll know more about John as well as his favourite music!
What is your employment background?
I have worked in the healthcare sector for nearly 20 years. Firstly, as a support worker, prior to becoming a Service Manager. From there I then went on to become a Registered Manager for an adults and children’s home delivering support to individuals with complex and physical disabilities. Then in 2014 I become a General Manager of a healthcare recruitment agency.
How long have you worked for Jane Lewis?
I have been here since the start of spring and I already feel like part of the team and I’m looking forward to establishing the Manchester branch across the region and growing the opportunities available to the current and prospective team.
What is the highlight of working for Jane Lewis?
One of the main highlights has been working for a family-run nursing agency and working closely and alongside Kal in getting to know the existing Manchester staff team and client base.
What are the benefits of working for Jane Lewis?
The benefits of working with Jane Lewis is the opportunities that are available, which is extended throughout the whole company, and the team work that exists between the branches. There is also a definite work life balance for both office and healthcare staff with as work is profiled to any individual’s preference.
What motivates you during your working day?
Working closely with staff and clients to ensure that Jane Lewis is able to support and assist providers with a quality service whilst delivering support to individuals in a person centred approach as well as ensuring everyone has job satisfaction.
Tell us something unusual about yourself?
I still prefer to purchase and collect all my films and music rather than download or stream, – much to the annoyance of my postman!

What’s your favourite song?
My favourite song is “This Will Be” by the daughter of Nat King Cole, Natalie Cole
Where is your favourite holiday destination?
It has to be Bulgaria where I go each year and spend quality time with my family
Who would play you in a movie of your life?
One of the most favourable response back from friends and family is Billy Zane
What’s your favourite beverage?
My morning Starbucks on the way in to work always helps me get ready for the day
