In this the next instalment of our regular meet the team feature we focus on a new member of the Jane Lewis team, Alison France. Alison has only recently joined our Crewe branch as the Branch Administrator and quickly become a valuable member of the nursing agency team in Crewe.
Alison has kindly taken the time to answer our usual meet the team questions which include a variety of career-based and quirky-based topics. By reading our clients and staff can get to know Alison better so when you call our Crewe branch for shifts or staffing requirements you’ll know who you’re speaking to as well as which actress she’d like to play her in a film of her life!
How long have you worked for Jane Lewis?
I took up my role as Branch Administrator for the Crewe branch of Jane Lewis in the summer of 2015 and have felt like part of the team immediately. Myself and Carmen Eardley, the Branch Manager work really well together and I’m really enthusiastic about the work we do.
What is your background?
I previously worked as a Prison Office for 9 years before becoming a Director of my own retail business for over 20 years. My next role signalled the start of my career in healthcare as I worked as a Support worker working with Adults with learning disabilities before I then joined Jane Lewis at the Crewe branch.
What is the highlight of working for Jane Lewis?
I think the fact that every day is different is what makes the work really enjoyable as well as the variety of people we liaise with each day including numerous healthcare professionals and variety of both NHS and private nursing and residential homes.
What are the benefits to staff (Nurses, HCAs, Specialist Support Workers) of working for Jane Lewis?
I would say some of the major benefits of working for a Nursing agency such as Jane Lewis include the variety of placements and settings we can provide our staff as well as the opportunity to decide what hours suit their lifestyle. Further to that we provide a very smart uniform and a really friendly workplace.
What motivates you during your working day?
My number one motivation is trying to get the most suitable work for our staff in the settings they prefer. We set ourselves targets in the office and try to exceed them each week so that our staff get as much work as they want and our clients have their shifts covered promptly and effectively.

I am a good code breaker and enjoy doing the newspaper puzzles!
Where do you live?
I live in Crewe, Cheshire.
What’s your favourite song?
My favourite song is the classic Bohemian Rhapsody by Queen.
