This Sunday, the 18th of June Marketing Manager Gavin Roberts will take part in the third edition of the Shrewsbury Half Marathon in a bid to raise funds for The Harry Johnson Trust.
Along with Gavin, the Shrewsbury branch team of Manager Ann, Deputy Jackie and Administrator Helen will man a water station to hand out much needed water to the competitors taking part.
The Harry Johnson Trust was set up in 2014 after the death of Harry at age 7 after a nine month fight with Double Hit Non-Hodgkins Lymphoma. The Trust provides support and assistance to children and teenagers who are receiving care at The Pricess Royal Hospital in Shropshire
In an effort to fund raise Trust Gavin will aim to run the Shrewsbury half marathon and has encouraged his work colleagues to provide support in the form of sponsorship. A Givey page has been created in order to collate sponsorship and there’s still time to make a donation via the following link: https://www.givey.com/runforharryjohnsontrust
The Shrewsbury Half Marathon fundraising represents ongoing charitable activities from the Shrewsbury based nursing agency branch as Deputy Branch Manager Jackie recently completed the Severn Hospice colour run and raised £125. Other volunteer work from the branch saw Jackie judge an independent skills competition held at Derwen College.
If you’re going to be taking part in this Sunday’s Half Marathon please keep an eye out for our water station manned by the Shrewsbury team and if you see Gavin and he looks a bit tired a few words of encouragement would always be welcome!
