Jane Lewis Shrewsbury branch is organising a charity walk to raise funds for Bethphage which is a charitable and specialist provider of support for adults with learning disabilities.
The charity provides a range of support including 24/7 or for a few hours each week. They are also experienced at supporting people who may need a little extra help because of their physical disability, sensory impairment, mental health needs or autism.
The charity walk will take place on Saturday 19 Aug and will start at 10am with the day’s activities drawing to a close at 2pm. The price to take part in the day is £5 with children and dogs free!
Included in the entry price is a drink and cake plus entry into the hamper prize raffle. Also included is a photo competition where photos from the day will be judged and a winner announced with a special prize. Finally the day will also include a kid’s nature quiz for all the children to take part in!
The Walk Location
To get to the car Park please put ‘Battlefield Heritage Park, Shrewsbury, SY1 3FE’ into Google maps or your sat nav.
The main walk is approx. 1.6 miles long with the church half way around. You can also walk from the church to the Battlefield 1403 Shop where there is a great butchers and also more information about the Battle of Shrewsbury. This is half a mile from the church so would add an extra mile onto your walk.
How will you Help
Bethphage are looking to develop the gardens at both their mental health supported living service in Shrewsbury and Day Centre in Bridgnorth. Both sites have large gardens but they are neglected and we are looking for funding to set up a gardening project, where the people we support can learn new skills to grow plants, flowers and vegetables and create an outdoor space they can be proud of and utilise.
