Shrewsbury Deputy Manager Jackie Millward successfully completed the 2017 colour run this Sunday and in doing so raised £125 for Severn Hospice.
Since 1989 Severn Hospice has provided specialist support and care free of charge to families living in Shropshire, Telford, Wrekin and Mid Wales who are living with an incurable illness.
The hospice is an independent charity and so relies on charitable donations such as Jackie’s to provide care to thousands of people every year.
The second edition of the Severn Hospice Colour Run was held in Telford Town Park on Saturday 10 June and over 2000 runners of all ages and abilities completed the 5 kilometre route around Telford Town Park and turned the park into a riot of colour in aid of Severn Hospice.
Taking part in the colour run in aid of Severn Hospice represents both Jackie and the Shrewsbury nursing agency’s continuing charitable activities and volunteer work with Jackie recently supporting Derwen College with their independent skills competition and the branch raising funds for charity by taking part in this week’s Shrewsbury Half Marathon.
Shrewsbury Deputy Branch Manager Jackie Millward said: “I had a great time doing the Severn Hospice Colour Run today in Telford. The warm up was particularly fun and there was a great atmosphere. Best of all the money raised was all for a really great and worthwhile charity which will continue to support families in our local communities. Now to go and exfoliate!”
