Staff from our Chester branch took part in this year’s Foamtastic Colour Blast, a fundraising event organised by the Hospice of the Good Shepherd. The 3km fun run is held at the Chester Racecourse and offers entrants the opportunity to get as messy as possible… with no cleaning up!
Our 12-strong team, a mix of Complex Care, HR, Accounts, Recruitment and Marketing staff, were dressed in bright pink, accessorised with headbands and wristbands (for warmth!) and stood out against the sea of white T-Shirts.
A rainbow cloud of bright powder signalled the start of the race. The runners set off through a kaleidoscope of colour, past giant paint canons and through slippy foam pits; all to help raise vital funds for the charity.
The Foamtastic Colour Blast is an un-timed, family-friendly race with no pressure to run. A lot of participants slowly jog or walk the distance, often with some slipping and sliding through the foam!
At the end of the 2-lap race, all entrants were proud and messy in equal measure. And the Jane Lewis ‘Pink Ladies’ are already looking forward to next year’s race!
