Experienced Support Workers and Assistants at Jane Lewis have the opportunity to become Specialist Support Workers, working with some of our complex paediatric clients.
As a Children’s Specialist Support Worker, you will work with families to support their children, providing complex levels of care and support in the home environment.
Our children’s packages of care present with a wide range of complex needs and disabilities. Some of our children require support to attend school, interact with the community and attend appointments or social events. Some are able bodied and some require full support and assistance to preserve life.
Being a Children’s Specialist Support Worker is a very rewarding role. You are there to support families to care for their children and provide respite and support when it is needed the most.
Our Children require skilled support staff who are able to meet their clinical needs and requirements, whilst also maintaining their privacy and dignity. We require staff who are fun, supportive, passionate and motivational.
At Jane Lewis we pride ourselves in offering a person-centered approach to care delivery, including making sure we perfectly place our staff in appropriate packages of care. We complete a full clinical and social assessment of our clients and support them and their families to select support workers who best fit their needs and requirements.
Jane Lewis offer a suite of Specialist Training & Competencies to enable our staff have the skills required to be confident and competent in all aspects of care delivery. Our bespoke training is designed to suit our clients and can can include:
- Enteral Feeding
- Tracheostomy & Ventilation
- Spinal Cord Injury
- Cough Assist / Assisted Cough
- Acquired Brain Injury
- Epilepsy Inc Rescue Medication
- Drug Administration
- Dysphasia Awareness
- Paediatric Basic Life Support
Our training courses are free for our specialist staff to access. We also provide 1-1 competencies, bespoke to our clients.
With bespoke in-house training and our own Clinical Nurse Lead, we can ensure each of our support workers has the right mix of skills, expertise, confidence and passion to work on a specific package of care. We will always ensure our staff are safe and able to deliver care.
